Advancing Skills and Knowledge Through Lifelong Learning for Mental Health Professionals
The Inclusive Australian Agency of Mental Health Practitioners (IAAMHP) is dedicated to advancing the professionalism and capabilities of mental health professionals across a wide range of specialties and practices. CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is a vital component of this commitment. Our CPD programs are designed to enhance, broaden, and update the skills of our members, ensuring they remain at the forefront of their field.
IAAMHP offers CPD activities for a variety of mental health professionals, including:
- AHPRA-and ACMHN registered practitioners (Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, Psychiatrists, etc.)
- Non-AHPRA regulated mental health professionals (Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Art Therapists, and others)
Our CPD activities, though not endorsed by AHPRA or ACMHN, follow the standards set out by these organisations. They may be meet the requirement of these registration bodies.
For more details, you can download the AHPRA CPD Requirements PDF.
All IAAMHP-endorsed CPD activities are grounded in these key principles:
- Evidence-based and research-driven: Ensuring the latest and evidence-based information is integrated into all learning programs.
- Outcome-focused learning: Designed to improve clinical competence, professional skills, and client outcomes.
- Inclusive and flexible formats: Activities available in diverse formats (e.g., in-person workshops, online webinars, self-paced e-learning) tailored to different needs and learning preferences.
- Fostering lifelong learning: Our CPD opportunities encourage continuous growth and adaptation, acknowledging that professional development is an ongoing process throughout a practitioner’s career.
- Interdisciplinary and accessible: Serving a broad range of mental health professionals, our CPD activities are inclusive, supporting development for practitioners across all qualifications and experience levels.
Upon completing an IAAMHP CPD activity, members will receive:
- A certificate of participation
- Activity duration, learning outcomes, and relevance to the practitioner’s field
- Documentation that can be used for portfolio reporting and regulatory compliance
These certificates are accepted by IAAMHP for tracking progress and can be used for portfolio building, audits, and renewals with regulatory bodies (if applicable).
