Inclusive Australian Agency of Mental Health Practitioners (IAAMHP)
We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (C’th) (the Act).
This policy outlines how we collect, use, manage, and store your personal information. Where applicable, we will rely on the employee records exemption in the Privacy Act and any other applicable exemptions in relevant legislation.

1.2 Sensitive information includes data related to your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, health information, or membership in associations, among others. We do not collect sensitive information unless it is necessary for providing our services. However, unsolicited sensitive information that you provide may still be captured and stored.

- Identification Details: Name, title, date of birth, gender.
- Contact Information: Address, phone numbers, email addresses.
- Professional Information: Qualifications, employment history, professional memberships.
- Sensitive Information: Health information, cultural and religious background, criminal history (only when relevant and with consent).
- Financial Information: Bank account details for payment processing.
2.1 For general public, prospective users and members, the personal information we collect may include:
- Name (First name, Middle name, Surname, Preferred name)
- Title (Mr, Ms, Mrs, Dr, Scr, Fellow, etc)
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Contact details (including physical address, communication address, email address and phone numbers)
- Qualifications, educational transcripts, citizenship information, documents related to Police Clearance and Working With Children Check, Insurance currencies such as Professional Indemnity and Public Liability, Curriculum Vitae, English Language Test Reports from IELTS, TOEFL and similar other English Language Test Providers recognised by the mental health industry in Australia and any other document relevant to membership registration such as consents and statutory declaration form
- Citizenship information, visa details and residence information
- Employment details
- Cultural and Religious background
- Criminal History
- Payment information (such as Bank details, credit card details and Debit card details)
2.2 For members or membership applicants, the personal information collected may also include:
- Name (First name, Middle name, Surname, Preferred name)
- Title (Mr, Ms, Mrs, Dr, Scr, Fellow, etc)
- Gender
- Qualifications, educational transcripts, documents related to Police Clearance and Working With Children Check, Insurance currencies such as Professional Indemnity and Public Liability, Curriculum Vitae, English Language Test Reports from IELTS, TOEFL and similar other English Language Test Providers recognised by the mental health industry in Australia and any other document relevant to membership registration such as consents and statutory declaration forms

- 2.3 For those applying for or holding a position with IAAMHP (including employees, contractors, volunteers, or students), we may also collect health information relevant to your role.

5. Overseas Disclosure
Some third parties to whom we may disclose your personal information may operate outside Australia, in countries such as but not limited to the USA, UK, India, European countries, and Asian countries. These third parties provide services such as marketing or data storage. We strive to ensure that these providers comply with privacy protection standards that are at least equivalent to our own.
Where required, we will also seek your consent before transferring your personal information to these overseas service providers.

6.1 Cookies are used on our website for tracking user interactions and optimizing services. These cookies may collect data like your IP address, browser type, and geographic location, which is stored in a pseudonymized user profile.

7.3 Personal information of former members may be retained in accordance with legal obligations for at least seven years after membership cessation.
7.4 Information Information collected from users through marketing activities may be retained until the user requests its deletion.
8. Data Access and Correction
8.1 Members can update their personal details through our online member portal. Non-members can contact us to request access or corrections to their information.
8.2 We aim to provide a summary of personal information upon request, rather than individual documents. Requests for access may incur a small fee for administrative costs.
8.3 You have the right to access, correct, remove your personal information held by us. Requests can be made by contacting our support team at contact@iaamhp.org.

We will investigate complaints and strive to resolve them as soon as possible.

11. Additional Provisions for Social Media, Newsletters, and E-Commerce
11.1 Social Media Interactions
When you interact with IAAMHP on third-party platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Telegram, or YouTube, your activity is subject to the privacy policies of those platforms. We may collect publicly available information (e.g., your name or profile details) to respond to your inquiries or assess engagement. Please note that these platforms are owned and operated by external entities, and IAAMHP has no control over how they collect, use, or store your data. We strongly recommend that you review their respective privacy policies. IAAMHP is not responsible for the data handling practices, privacy breaches, or actions of these third-party platforms.
11.2 Newsletter Subscriptions
By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to us collecting and using your name and email address to send updates, promotional content, and service-related announcements.
Emails may be sent periodically, and subscription details are securely managed in compliance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988, Australian Spam Act 2003, GDPR (EU/UK), and other applicable international privacy laws where applicable and feasible.
You may opt out of our services at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link included in each email or by contacting us directly. We respect your privacy and will not share your information with third parties without your consent, except where legally required.
Please note: In rare cases, due to technical issues or delays in system updates, you may still receive emails after opting out. If this occurs, please contact us at contact@iaamhp.org, and we will remove your subscription manually. Please allow up to 5 business days for this to be processed.
